My Final Farewell - Why was it developed?
Below we will detail the exact way in which the site works but first let us explain why the site has been developed.
In 2003 the founder of our site lost his father, who had only days earlier celebrated his 41st birthday. The death was completely out of the blue and hit the family hard.
The unexpected nature of the death lead to so many things being left unsaid.......hence this site.
Although a 'Final Farewell' would not have eased the pain or grief, the mere fact that the father could have one last time told his family how he felt would have given
an eternity of comfort.
This is now our aim - To offer the chance to provide you with that 'Final Farewell', to prevent those precious last few words going unsaid.
So How Does It Work?
- Firstly you will register your contact details to allow confirmation letters to be sent to you.
- Then you compose your final farewell at the same time entering the contact details of the recipient of the farewell to allow it's safe delivery when the time comes.
- At this point all data is saved.
- You are then required to log in to your personal account area to confirm that all details have been entered correctly.
- It is vital that all details are entered correctly as this data will be used to send out confirmation letters and eventually your final farewell(s).
- Also at this point you decide whether the instructions on what to do when required will be sent directly to the recipient, or to you so you can tell them yourself.
- Once you have entered this information all that is left to do is pay the one off fee for your final farewell of £34.99.
- At this point a confirmation letter will be sent to you and instructions will also be sent out (to the person that you instructed in an earlier stage).
- From here on in you are able to log in and change your final farewell as and when you wish.
- Additionally while logged in you will be able to write additional farewell(s) to other loved ones at a cost of £24.99 per farewell.
- Please note at the time of you saving your farewell, the content gets encrypted for your privacy so not even Final Farewell developers are able to read it.
So at this point your farewells have been saved and paid for....
but what happens when I pass away?
The person to whom you registered your first 'final farewell' is allocated as being your 'Lead Farewell'. They will be responsible for following the instructions we provided
at the time of you registering.
- To ensure your privacy and security your lead farewell will be responsible for providing us with a death certificate to avoid anyone gaining access to your
final words before you would wish them to do so.
- Upon receipt of a death certificate along with the voucher received with the instructions, your 'Final Farewell' is then prepared and sent out.
- Should you register more than one farewell, each person to whom you have registered a farewell will receive a voucher which they are to send to us when they wish for the farewell to be delivered. As above this will only occur once the lead farewell has provided us with a death certificate.
- All farewells are then sent via recorded delivery to ensure safe arrival.
- At this point your loved ones will be able to take at least some comfort from the words you provide
We are constantly looking for ways to ensure that the service we provide is tactful and tries at all times to consider the feelings of the truly devastated.
If you can think of a way in which this could be done even more so then please don't hesitate to
get in touch.
